You bet! Parrots are both visual and auditory learners. Because they are so good at hearing sounds and learning to imitate them, they can be quite attentive to different words. Use verbal and visual cues in conjunction during initial training so that your parrot can learn both. Periodically leave out the verbal or visual cue to check if your parrot responds to the other. Eventually you should be able to cue the trick with just the visual cue or just saying the cue. Practice makes perfect.
