How often do parrots get pin feathers on the head? #birds

Published on March 30, 2024

How often do parrots get pin feathers on the head? Parrots replace all the feathers on their body in a process called molting. This usually happens 1 to 2 times per year when the bird will replace all its feathers. However, it doesn't happen all at once. Every few days some more feathers shed and some new ones grow in from different places.
