Previous Video     Return to Search Results     Next Video New Quaker Parrot Starting to Settle In Published on June 25, 2025 My new Quaker Parrot is starting to settle in. He's discovering where his food, water, and toys are. The bird is getting used to his cage, room, and me. I'm in no rush to take him out because it is more likely to cause a set back. Instead, I give him time to get used to things and me. This will make coming out go much smoother. At first, the priority is to make sure he can get to his food and water and build confidence to move about his cage. Next, he should get comfortable with his toys, perches, and the layout of the room. After those, I spend a lot of time near him so the Monk Parakeet can get used to me being around. And only after this has all taken place can I start getting him used to taking treats from my hand. Subscribe and follow this Quaker's training journey.
