How Kody the Cape Parrot Got His Name

Published on January 31, 2025

Here's a video about how my Cape Parrot Kody was named. Why is Kody named Kody and why is it spelled with a K and not a C like Cody?

When Kody was a baby and before he was named, my wife would call him Capey which is an endearing form of Cape.

During an outing, my wife was calling him Capey and an observer started talking to him and calling him KP. She started saying things like "Hello K P". From that moment, we realized that he's not Capey but actually his initials are K P. From there his name came up as Kody Parrot to fit his initials. That's why it's Kody with a K and not Cody with a C.
