How I Set Up Green Cheek Conure Baby Cage

This video shows how I outfit a Green Cheek Conure parrot cage with toys and perches. We start with an empty cage and create a nice Conure cage set up.

Putting good toys and perches in the bird’s enclosure is very important. Parrots can use a variety of perches. We are using natural perches and NU Perches in this cage.

This cage set up is for a baby parrot. This Green Cheek Conure is a baby bird, which is why I’m using a short wide cage. While this bird is still a baby, I put the perches lower, creating a simpler set up to help the baby learn to hop and climb. Once the baby parrot learns to perch and fly well, he can move to a taller cage with multilevel perch set up.

Toys are important for parrot enrichment. I am using a big variety of toys made with different types of wood for the Green Cheek Conure.
It’s important to consider safety when using any bird toy. We are using high quality bird toys with suitably sized toy parts. Our little Conure friend loves bells, for example, so we are using properly sized bells and monitor how he interacts with his toys.

He is such a great buddy helping me set up his enclosure!
