In this video you can see me doing some training with the Pink Cockatoo I've been working with. His crest goes up, he stays back, he tries not to put his feet up on the handheld perch, he grabs treats quickly. Although we have been having great improvements in training, his skittish tendencies are still visible. He is reluctant to advance and has to proactively overcome some of his fears. It is not that he is fearful of the clicker & target stick or the handheld perch. He's just nervous in general. He's nervous being out of the cage, he's nervous of changes around him when he is in the cage. Through this gradual training, we are getting him to be calmer and less worked up over things in general. Actually this is a big improvement from where we started out.
