This video contains 3 suggestions on how to improve the likelihood of having a talking parrot. Find a species with better talking potential, preferably an adult that is already known to be a good talker. Talk a lot around your parrot in order to give it a chance to pick up on talking. Expose your parrot to all kinds of chatter and sounds, but try to be consistent. Teach your parrot to be less shy around people. Many parrots talk in private but go mute when people want to watch. By teaching your parrot to be less shy, it is more likely to talk in public. The best way to teach a parrot to be less shy is by trick training!
