Published on November 29, 2025 This Major Mitchell's Cockatoo has come a long way in 30 days! Although he's not even trick trained or doing anything exciting, the trust he has built is tremendous. This Pink Cockatoo was a very nervous bird starting out. I gained enough trust that this parrot would take treats from my hand, learn to follow a target stick, come out of the cage, go onto a Training Perch, and finally step up onto my hand voluntarily! For such a nervous bird, these are very successful results. Patience really pays off! Now he is heading back to Parrot Stars for the 2025 Parrot Stars Summer Festival, educational activities, to help teach parrot owners about how to improve a parrot's life and develop a mutual relationship.
