I got to see them in Arthur's Pass in 2015. I finally got to posting this video of these amazing parrots. They are omnivores and eat plenty of plant matter but they are uniquely the only parrot that naturally eats meat as well. Nestor notabilis, the Kea Parrot is endemic to New Zealand. It's called the Kea because it makes a Keeyaa sound when it calls. So check out this video and see my interactions, impressions, and all around amazing experience seeing the noble Kea Parrots.
