I trained a Ringneck Parakeet, Sun Conure, and Cockatiel

After just 30 days of training, look at the progress we’ve made teaching a Sun Conure, Indian Ringneck, and Cockatiel.

The Sun Conure learned to target, step up, flight recall, and let me hold him!

The Indian Ringneck learned to target, come out of the cage, and step on a perch. He was really shy and scared starting out, so the trust gained is a major improvement.

The Cockatiel learned to target, step up, flight recall, turn around, and wear a harness!

Now we head to Parrot Stars for the Summer Festival to do educational presentations with these birds in front to a live audience. We will be sharing how training can help improve a bird’s behavior and enhance their life.

I am excited to educate about how to teach a Sun Conure to step up, how to train a Cockatiel to turn around, and how to gain trust with a timid Ringneck parakeet. If I can do so much with 3 birds in 30 days, just imagine what you can do with your parrot in a lifetime?
