Why I Don't Take Quaker and Cockatoo Out Together

Published on August 08, 2025

How come I have the Quaker Parrot out and the Major Mitchell's Cockatoo in the cage? The Cockatoo has been much better lately at coming out of the cage but he is still pretty nervous when he is out. The Quaker is much more comfortable.

I don't want the Quaker to scare the Cockatoo. Or for the birds to distract each other in their leaning how to be with me.

I want to have focused one on one time with the Pink Cockatoo and the Monk Parakeet individually.

Because of the size difference, I don't want to risk the two birds getting in a fight or one hurting the other. So, I spend time with them individually.
