Target training is super helpful for teaching basic skills like step up, flight recall, coming off the shoulder, and more. Things get a bit hectic targeting two macaws at the same time. Normally I try to work with them one at a time or keep one busy while the other is training. Using a clicker and a target stick, I point where I want the macaw to go and then the macaw uses feet or wings to get there to touch the target stick. I click the clicker and give a treat in response.
