What Happens If You Don't Open Parrot's Pin Feathers #bird

Published on March 26, 2024

When parrots grow new feathers, they form in the shape of a pin at first. The bird will open the pin feathers around its body by itself. However, the parrot can use some help from another bird or human opening the pin feathers on the head.

If you do not open them, the parrot might scratch the pin feathers with its foot, rub its head on something, wash them off in a shower, or eventually they open on their own.
